Hillside fourth grade students recently put the "Spotlight on New York,"
presenting their research on a topic related to the state to parents,
friends, staff and students.
Spotlight on New York is an annual project in which fourth grade students select an aspect of the state to research. They prepare a written report and an oral presentation with an accompanying visual display.
As seen in these photos, topics students covered these year ran the gamut from Lou Gehrig to Grandma Moses and the New Netherland Colony to Empire State Plaza.
Congratulations to the students of teachers Carol Herrington, Chris Lasher and Michelle McKee and teaching assistants Debra Bachert and Ann Gallup for their putting the spotlight on the people, history and culture of our state!
