The district has scheduled community forums on January 21, February 4,
and March 15 to gather input on key issues related to the development of a
2014-15 budget and a longer-term strategic plan. The first two forums are
being held early in 2014 in order to engage community members in a
discussion about values and priorities at the outset of the budget planning
The January 21 and February 4 forums will feature facilitated, roundtable discussions in which community members will discuss specific questions around major topics.
The January 21 forum will focus on gathering feedback from the Board of Education's ongoing strategic planning process, including key decision points for next year's budget.
More specific information about each forum will be posted on the district website ahead of time. The forums will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the two Tuesday evenings.
If you plan to participate in either or both forums, please RSVP by calling the Superintendent's Office at 377-4666, option 4. Everyone is welcome - calling ahead will be helpful in the districtâ€™s planning for facilitators and appropriate space for the group discussions.
The March 15 forum is on a Saturday morning; The district has found this helps broaden community participation, providing a venue for those who can't make it to weeknight meetings.
